Well controlled dogs on leads (no mess or other litter left) perhaps could be permitted. While some toddler type ramps, hoops and tunnels could be shared by dogs. Cheap, space saving option to try.
A dog shower perhaps a bit excessive, but drinking fountain, tree shade and seating will certainly help in hot weather.

This is a really fantastic and unique suggestion Dawn, Thankyou. I really like the idea of a play park for dogs somewhere in the borough.
I do feel a duty to inform you though that the funding for this project came from an application to central government to 'level up' our children's play areas and so we are obliged to use it for that specific purpose.
Similar to suggestions about skateparks though, this type of project is not beyond the realms of possibility elsewhere. It would require an organised community group to raise funds and for that group to work with the council to make it happen.
We would be happy to discuss this with you if you felt this was really something the community wanted and would be willing to work together with us on.

Thanks for your feedback and for the image to illustrate your points. What do you think would be the benefit of having facilities for dogs?
