Gauntlett Park

From "Gauntlet Park, Purbrook"

Go to the project

I'm a parent to 3 children (9 and under). Some good examples of local parks are at Denmead, Portchester Community Centre and Alver Valley, Totally agree with the comments about fencing and the flooring needing to be soft and suitable for winter conditions. The park at The Heath is set on grass and isn't well used over winter because of this.

New swings (including the net/hammock swings), new slide (please don't just paint the old one again), roundabout, zip wire, climbing frame and climbing walls. I've read previous comments about which age to target it for, and I'd personally target under 10's. My eldest is not as bothered about playing in parks as my younger ones, and I feel the younger ages would get more value from it.

Agree there should be sensory and disability equipment too.

That said, a basketball and football cage/court would definitely be very welcomed! My eldest would love that - similar to what there is at The Heath or opposite South Downs.

I'd also like to see some benches for picnics, new bins and perhaps cameras like they have at Clanfield.
