Our Appraisal

We met Nick Rogers of HBC at the January event and were very impressed by his professional approach and enthusiasm for this long-overdue project.  On March 14th, we met Richard, the contracted designer.  The plans produced by his team as shown on the website and in the Gallery are excellent, inspiring, and must be brought to fruition.  His design and project co-ordination skills, together with his ability to connect so effectively and eloquently  with the public, left us hoping that his team’s contract would not be terminated in May; they should be allowed to help see it through.  This detailed plan must not be left in a ‘pending’ folder on someone’s desk. HBC must maintain this encouraging impetus towards this vital redevelopment of the town.

It is clear to us that Waterlooville sits politically between two disinterested parties and unless the revised constituency boundaries alter this situation, it is only HBC who can drive the plans on and ensure their success.  We believe that persuading the current owners of the properties to engage with this scheme is key.  With so many negative articles in the media having highlighted the parlous state of the town, we now need to use this to our advantage and reveal these excellent plans, reacting positively and soon. 

We need to make Waterlooville inhabitants proud to live here, not ashamed.  The plans need to be published in a powerful, punchy, glossy brochure (which hopefully will be picked up on by the media),not just parked on the website.  We suggest the heading ‘Waterlooville Fights Back!’
