Play Areas Footprint

Good design helps play area appearance maintenance.

Three design flaws that can be seen in the cover picture of Springwood area are:-

1. Railings up to grass, makes upkeep difficult and as in the picture gives an unkempt look. Design should step the railings into the hard pad so grass can simply be mowed to the surface change.
2. The play area should have a gentle slop to help water run off/ drainage and self cleaning.
3. Grass Banks are draining onto the flat pad, risking ice in winter, pad breakup & moss. Any near by bank should be trenched or have a gully at the pad boundary.
