The plan suggests enhancing play areas, however scratchface lane playpark has been woefully neglected since we moved here 12 years ago, with various play equipment removed but not replaced. Local children are missing out.

Scratchface Lane recreation ground is in desperate need of attention. There was a public meeting 3 (?) years ago at which HBC put forward 4 options for improvement. Since that meeting, no more information or action addressing the drainage problem has been forthcoming. The site offers much potential for an upgraded play area, increased biodiversity with suitable planting together with landscaping and perhaps a community orchard. At the moment, the rec is mainly used by dog walkers but it could be developed and improved for the benefit of all ages, and particularly for local children.
