The Leigh Park Project – Shopping Centre Improvements
Havant Borough Council have £300,000 to invest in improving the look and feel of Leigh Park Shopping Centre and we would like to know how best to use it for the benefit of the whole community.
We want the decisions to be based on the needs and wants of the people that live, shop, work and visit there.
Thank you to everyone who took time to cast their votes, send in comments or talk to us at one of our face-to-face events. We received a total of 330 votes from 160 people and had many useful conversations.
The votes from the face-to-face sessions have been added to the online votes and the results can be seen below.
We are excited to see that refurbishing the play park had the most votes with street furniture, street art, planting and lighting all priorities.
What happens next?
A key theme that came out of our conversations was the importance of involving young people in the planning and delivery of the works. Over the winter we will carry on conversations with the community with plans to run sessions in schools and with Motiv8.
We will then start to plan for the implementation of the ideas and will provide further updates via this page - stay tuned for further news!
