Play Areas in Havant

The 2026/27 play area engagement programme is now live and we want to hear your views on the following play areas:

  • Havant Park
  • Hooks Lane, Havant
  • Old Copse, Havant
  • Longwood Avenue, Waterlooville

The initial feedback phase launches on 22 July and will run until 12 August for your initial views, but there will be another phase of engagement on each of these play areas in the coming months.

Information on the play area projects

These refurbishments have been funded through the Community Infrastructure Levy, following the revision of the CIL spending protocol for 2022, which focuses neighbourhood portion investment into HBC owned assets, including play areas, in line with the council's corporate strategy objectives.

The borough owns and maintains 32 play area sites. Over the coming years, the council will continue to invest CIL funding towards improving these sites, in line with the council's corporate strategy (more information can be found at https://www.havant.gov.uk/performance-and-strategy).

These sites will be prioritised based on a number of factors. This includes the condition of the existing play equipment and anticipated life expectancy, the level of play value and enjoyment opportunity for children and the geographical spread and accessibility of existing high quality play provision.
